Russell Brand famously treats women badly. He loves them – in the purely physical sense – then leaves them.
After he ended his marriage, by text, he publicly referred to it as “a drag” and “a sacred 14-month agreement.”
Then he announced – even though no one had asked – that when he was with his wife, “I’d be having sex thinking, ‘Think of anyone, anyone else’.”
There wasn’t even much of an uproar at this cruel, graceless admission, because that’s just what Russell Brand is like.
Disrespecting women in a completely vile manner is his thing. And yet this week, he’s got another new girlfriend, Jemima Khan.
Why is it that whenever a man does something disgusting to a woman, there’s always an endless supply of other women volunteering to let him do the exact same to them straight afterwards?
Liam Gallagher has managed to not only treat his wife appallingly, but somehow also his mistress, the mother of his love child.
And yet, he’s already shacked up with a new girlfriend too. Like, what does she think is going to happen, really?
Men do not change. Women, apparently, never learn.
Together, it’s a lethal combination – but unfortunately only for the women.
Mistakenly thinking you’ll be the one who makes him see the error of his ways goes back hundreds of years.

Instead, she ignored the red flags, believed it would be different with her and ended up having her head cut off.
Girls also queued up to go out with Darren back in the Day, one after the other, like lemmings jumping off a cliff, and with similar results.
Even now, Tiger Woods, Chris Brown and Ashley Cole don’t exactly struggle to find partners.
This cycle, depressingly, seems destined to repeat itself ad nauseam for the rest of time.
Because as long as there are women willing to be the latest in a long line of eager victims, there’s no real incentive for men to amend their behaviour and start respecting them, is there?
Russell Brand revealed his new relationship with Jemima after explaining that he’d just valiantly not tried to get off with some scantily clad girls at a party.
“I’m not typically immune to the allure of objectified women,” he said, “But I am presently beleaguered by a nerdish, whirling dervish, and am eschewing all others.”
Beleaguered. Beset with difficulties, opposition, or criticism.
Jemima, you have no one to blame but yourself.
